Rohm and Haas partners with CitiBank to launch electronic commerce platform in Latin America
SAO PAULO, Brazil (November 6, 2001) - Rohm and Haas, a specialty materials company, has launched an e-commerce solution for its business in Latin America LatinRohmHaas. The solution has been developed and hosted by Citibank e-Business, a unit of Citigroup, a global financial services company.
According to the partnering companies, the initiative is designed to allow the company to enhance its customer relationships by utilizing the Web to provide real-time information about its products and services. In addition, it also offers customers the ability to order products, track order status, and consult invoices and accounts payable 24 hours
a day, seven days a week. The service is being offered to existing customers in Brazil, and will soon be
available more broadly throughout the region.
Under the terms of the agreement, Rohm and Haas will utilize Citibank's B2B CitiCommerce.com solution for
the project. In the initial stage of the process, Rohm and Haas will use portions of the CitiCommerce.com
solution to automate and integrate its sales, distribution and financial network among its customers, sales representatives and distributors. Rohm and Haas reveals it intends to add Citibank's Internet-based
financing and credit solutions to further improve efficiency and service along its entire value chain.
