Plasticsgrid and IQMS partner to provide ERP II Software to European plastics processors
STOCKHOLM, Sweden (September 17, 2002) - Plasticsgrid, a provider of e-commerce services to the European plastics industry, has formed an agreement with IQMS, a provider of enterprise software (ERP) to the North American plastics industry. Under the terms of the agreement, Plasticsgrid will provide IQMS sales and service to European manufacturers.

In addition, Plasticsgrid will be the exclusive European distributor of EnterpriseIQ, IQMS’ integrated ERP II software suite, which is designed specifically for plastics and other repetitive manufacturing environments.

According to the partnering companies, ERP II is a term used to describe software that combines traditional areas of enterprise management, such as accounting, manufacturing planning and human resources, with more advanced features like customer relationship management (CRM), wireless warehouse management (WMS) and quality control. Plasticsgrid will support its efforts through offices in Sweden, Benelux and the UK.

“Plasticsgrid is already working with hundreds of manufacturers throughout Europe and is familiar with the unique demands of repetitive manufacturers,” says Terry Cline, IQMS Vice-President of Operations. “On top of that they are experts in technology implementation and have the infrastructure we need to make an immediate impact in the European market. We couldn’t find that with any other partner.”

IQMS said it has already implemented EnterpriseIQ in European plastics manufacturing plants, such as Mikron Vianen (Netherlands), but realized that in order to fully meet the needs of European customers, it needed to have a broad local presence. “To realize our goal of becoming the leading provider of ERP to the European plastics industry, we knew we have to have the local sales and support that European manufacturers require,” Cline said.

Plasticsgrid sees EnterpriseIQ as the ideal product on which to base its continued e-commerce efforts in Europe.

“In talking to manufacturers across Europe we realized there was a tremendous need for ERP and, more specifically, ERP that addressed the unique needs of plastics manufacturers without lots of costly customization,” says Göran Bennich, Co-Founder of Plasticsgrid. “We’re confident that with the strength of the EnterpriseIQ product, and our experience in the European plastics industry, that we’ll be able to prove the value of investing in ERP. Manufacturers today simply can’t afford not to.”

Under the agreement, Plasticsgrid will immediately roll-out EnterpriseIQ as part of its core product offering.
