Omnexus to form strategic alliance with The Society of the Plastics Industry
ZURICH, Germany (October 26, 2001) – Omnexus (omnexus.com), an e-marketplace serving the plastics industry, has announced its intent to form a strategic alliance with The Society of the Plastics Industry.
"Through this exciting alliance SPI members will be able to learn first-hand about the benefits of Omnexus through our association's publications, seminars, meetings and Web site,” said Donald Duncan, President of SPI. Duncan revealed that in return, Omnexus will promote SPI and its products and services on its Web site. "SPI is the premier plastics industry association, and we are delighted to have its endorsement," said David Jukes, Vice President of Omnexus. "This alliance provides a tremendous opportunity to foster learning and understanding about the benefits and cost savings Internet technology can bring to plastics processors." Omnexus also plans to develop online aftermarket services on the Equipment eMarketplace. Omnexus revealed the new feature will be designed to allow buyers on Omnexus to select and order spare parts and aftermarket services in real-time from multiple suppliers. According to the partnering companies, details of the arrangement will be worked out over the coming months, with additional announcements to follow.
