BASF selects EasyAsk to simplify and improve access to critical business information
LITTLETON, Massachusetts (March 11, 2003) – BASF, North American affiliate of BASF AG, has selected EasyAsk's technology to power a corporate portal effectively enabling employees to easily and quickly locate and retrieve business information and reports.
BASF chose EasyAsk (www.easyask.com) to help achieve its vision to allow employees to use natural-language queries to search for the information they need. BASF hopes to reduce the number of duplicate report requests submitted to business and central IT resources, while at the same time increasing employee efficiency by giving them immediate access to critical business intelligence, all from a search and navigation portal.
The technology of EasyAsk, information access software and solutions provider, is built upon as open, standards-based architecture, and it integrated easily with BASF's existing IT infrastructure, a critical consideration for the transnational company. Having deployed IBM's WebSphere platform, BASF found EasyAsk's WebSphere pre-integration and its status as an IBM-preferred partner for search and navigation a distinct advantage when it came to implementing EasyAsk's solution. "The speed with which enterprise information is accelerating is almost mind-boggling," said Bob Alperin, President and CEO of EasyAsk. "It is essential in today's environment to deploy infrastructure technologies that make it possible to synchronize business processes with split-second performance and accuracy that deliver superior customer service and up-to-the-minute visibility into key business operations. EasyAsk does just that for some of the best-known global brands. Our customers have invested heavily in IT infrastructure, and our goal is to help them leverage those investments. “To that end, EasyAsk is committed to providing powerful, precise and the only Synchronized Search and Navigation platform that works flawlessly within our customers' existing IT environments."
