Ariel Research launches new regulatory module for chemical industry
MCLEAN, Virginia (August 26, 2003) - Ariel Research, Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) regulatory compliance research company, has launched a new module designed to enable companies manufacturing, using or transporting chemicals across Central and Eastern Europe to mitigate their EH&S risk.
Ariel (www.arielresearch.com) is a wholly owned and independently managed subsidiary of Eastman Chemical.

Available immediately, Ariel's Central and Eastern European Database can be accessed via the web as an add-on to the company's flagship product Ariel WebInsight. Ariel claims to be the first company to expand the coverage of critical chemical regulations to include Central and Eastern Europe.

As Central and Eastern European countries enter into the European Union (EU), they are required to update their legislation to meet EU directives. Ariel's Central and Eastern European Database delivers the latest regulatory requirements for each acceding country.

"As a company focused on helping enterprises mitigate their EH&S risk by providing the highest quality compliance research, we are constantly monitoring new markets that could impact our customers," said John Wyatt, Chief Executive Officer of Ariel Research. "During this complex transition period in Europe, meeting EU directives has emerged as a major concern for them. This new database paves a clear path for addressing multinational regulatory compliance requirements."

Ariel's Central and Eastern European database lists chemical substances in both English and the native language of each regulation to ensure accuracy.
